Why We Make It

And what do we hope to achieve … political theatre that is.  What definitions can we come up with off the cuff?

Blackwatch … Angels in America … Norml Heart … Stuff Happens … Rachel Corrie

Plays that have politicized content and refer to real life political events …

But also the very act of sitting in a group and having this dicussion at all.

That’s political, but not necessarily theatre.

Also plays that are allegorical plays – Havel – or also plays that recontextualize things in different times … Doll’s House …

Or the production of the art itself can be political – like a collective?

What about results?  No – hold that thought …
